1613 King James Quarto Bible Leaf (Mark 13, Famous Rapture Passage)
This is a rare offering for a King James Roman Letter Bible Leaf printed by Robert Barker in 1613, just two years after the original 1611 Edition (400th Anniversary was in 2011). This leaf contains verses of the Gospel of Mark chapter 12 (beginning on verso) where we are told of the wonderful story of the widow putting in all of what she owned known as the widows mite. Jesus told us this story to show that it is not how much quantity we put in , but how much we put in of what we have available, so each has an opportunity to earn a reward.
Measures about 6" X 8".
This leaf will come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
This leaf has an interesting story: Up Until The 19th Century, men went around unhorse drawn carts collecting bones and rags (cloth). the bones were used to make glue and the rags (cloth) were used to make pages much as wood pulp is used today. They earned the nickname "rag and bone men".
