Ancient Roman Empire, Bronze Coin
This is a small bronze coin issued by the Roman Emperor Valentenian I in AD 364 to 375).
It is about 18mm across.
The observe has a right facing bust of the emperor w/ diadem.
The reverse shows the winged figure of Victoria advancing left with a wreath.
This Coin Has An Interesting Story: Victoria was revered by the Roman military, and was in a perennial favorite on Roman coins. When the empire became Christian in the early 300s, most Pagan symbols were removed from coinage, but Victoria remained.
